View this email in your browser Arabi Facts Hub's 2025 in Review A Year of Collaboration Innovation and Growth 📚 In this special issue of our newsletter: 🎓 Capacity Building and Learning | A year focused on people, we trained hundreds of journalists, media students, researchers, and fact-checkers on the fundamentals of verification, all the way to data analysis. 🗂️ Reports and Research | Across multiple platforms and countries, we completed reports and research that exposed disinformation campaigns and coordinated narratives, tracking how they are built and why they spread. 🧰 Tools and Data | We gathered tools we use daily into one toolkit, and expanded our open-source database that maps the information disorder in the region, revealing its patterns and contexts. 🤝 Partnerships and Professional Support | Because the confrontation is a collective effort, we expanded our regional and international partnerships, and supported 67 institutions and 66 freelance journalists to produce dozens of investigations during 2025. ✨ Throughout 2025, we invested in capacity building and developing the skills of journalists and media professionals through specialized and diverse training programs: 🎓 Impact in Numbers: 👥 1325 trainees participated in our training activities 🧠 34 training programs, including 89 specialized sessions 🏫 20 in-person training sessions | 💻 14 digital webinars 🤝 In cooperation with 24 local and regional institutions 🛠️ What did our trainings cover? From the basics of verification and fact-checking, to visual verification and OSINT, data and network analysis, tracking coordinated campaigns and inauthentic behavior, dealing with misinformation during crises, all the way to artificial intelligence, its editorial risks, and its applications in journalism. 🔍Programs designed to empower journalists to verify, analyze, and deeply understand patterns and methods of misinformation in the digital environment. ⭐During 2025, we completed 53 reports and investigations focusing on tracking coordinated campaigns and inauthentic behavior in conflict zones, refugee issues, as well as addressing disinformation in a wide range of Arab and regional countries. 📍 Geographically, the production was distributed among Palestine, Yemen, Qatar, UAE, Algeria, Morocco, Turkey, and Libya. 📊 Our reports reflected the expanding scope of work and the diversity of issues we followed throughout 2025, most notably: Dismantling Israel's Cyber Army: Propaganda for Israel Unites the Opposition and "Sons of Kemet" Fake Israeli Accounts Lead Smear Campaigns Against Journalists in Gaza Two Rival Accounts of Dr. Ban's Demise: Online Armies Each Push Their Narrative Fall of El Fasher Ignites Online War: Hemedti and Burhan Supporters Clash with Involvement from Egypt  🔗 Read All of Our Reports Here 🔗 We completed 4 research projects during 2025, which were not limited to monitoring what is published on digital platforms, but also sought to understand how and why content is published, and who contributes to its amplification or restriction. 🔗 Research Links  Only in Sfax: Mapping hate and disinformation on Facebook around the Tunisian elections Syria in Transition: Mapping Conspiracy Theorists on Social Media Blood Filters... Instagram Algorithms and the Genocide in Gaza Learning from Risk: Insights from China's Comprehensive AI Governance Model 📚 Educational Articles In 2025, Arabi Facts Hub focused on educational content as a tool to counter daily disinformation. We presented simplified and specialized articles covering information verification, from artificial intelligence and deepfake detection to image analysis and source-based disinformation. We also published advanced content on network analysis for monitoring coordinated campaigns and inauthentic behavior. 🔗 You can find our educational articles here 🔗 🤝Throughout 2025, AFH forged (24) partnerships and collaborations with international organizations, media platforms, universities, research and human rights initiatives, in addition to specialized Arab fact-checking platforms. Within these partnerships, we implemented (34) training programs and contributed to the production of a number of joint reports and research on fact-checking and information disorder. 🧠 Throughout 2025, Arabi Facts Hub prepared a practical toolkit to support information verification, digital content analysis, and understanding the mechanisms of publishing and disinformation across platforms. 🔍 What the toolkit included: 🔍 Search and Monitoring Tools: Such as Seek All, Social Searcher, and Search by Image 🧪 Counter-Fake and Generated Content Tools: Such as Hive Moderation, Sightengine, and Search4Faces 🕸️ Network Analysis Tools: Such as Gephi and NodeXL 🛰️ OSINT Tools: Such as PimEyes, Webmii, and Ghostery 🧰 Tools we use daily, gathered in one place to help journalists and fact-checkers monitor, analyze, and make more accurate and faster verification decisions. How is the Information Disorder Landscape Taking Shape in the Region? 📊 Throughout 2025, Arabi Facts Hub established its database as an open reference for analyzing information disorder, comprising nearly 21,000 fact-checked items produced by 24 independent fact-checking platforms across 11 Arab countries. 🗂️ The database provides a comprehensive archive that allows for advanced searching by country, platform, and claim category, in addition to tools that help analyze digital campaigns and monitor patterns of misinformation with ease and clarity. 🌐 Access to the database is available to everyone after creating an account, in support of more organized and transparent verification journalism. ✨ Throughout 2025, the Digital Tools Support Program enabled Arabi Facts Hub partners to produce dozens of investigations by providing advanced tools for investigations, data analysis, and digital security. It also combined training and advisory support to assist institutions and journalists. 🌍 At the institutional level, 67 institutions benefited from the program in 10 Arab countries, most notably Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Algeria, and Sudan. At the individual level, 66 independent journalists from various Arab countries were supported.  📊 AFH issued its first annual report in 2024, focusing on information disorder and coordinated campaigns in the region.
